Quad City Riverhawks News Release
The Tip Off
The Quad City Riverhawks extended their winning streak to five games with wins on the road over
Arkansas and Dallas this past weekend. The 'Hawks look to extend the streak to seven this weekend with two home games in two different venues.
Riverhawks take on Throwbacks
Saturday the Riverhawks take their show on the road for a home game against the Chicago Throwbacks. Due to the unfortunate tragedy at Northern Illinois University last week, the IHSA moved the State Dual Team
championships to the Riverhawks home, Wharton Field House. For one night only Quad City will call
Rockridge High School in Edgington, IL home. These two last met on January 20th with the Riverhawks
taking the win 127-105 in Chicago. Ryan Edwards led QC with 30 point while Bobby Anderson contributed
20 points and 9 rebounds. Jerome Harper paced the way for Chicago with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. The next time these two teams will meet is in the
regular season finale on March 16th. Tip off on
Saturday is 7:00 pm. The Riverhawks will be holding a 50/50 Raffle and selling autographed basketballs with the proceeds to be donated to the Brandon Ballard
Family to help offset Brandon's medical costs.
Quad City/ Reading Round Two
Quad City will return to Wharton Field House for a
rematch of their February 7th game against the Reading Railers. The last time these two teams met they
combined for 246 points and 72 fouls. Bobby Anderson registered a double-double against the Railers pouring in 37 points and snagging 10 boards. Jerald Brown was the lead scorer for Reading with 25 points.
Jackson Released
Head Coach LaTroy Farrow has announced the PF John Jackson has been released by the team. Jackson has been with the team for the last five games. He will be perusing opportunities in the Dominican Republic. The Riverhawks will fill his roster spot next week.
February 23 is Mercer County YMCA Night
Quad City Riverhawks G.M. is happy to
announce that the February 23rd game against the Chicago Throwbacks will be Mercer County YMCA Night. Teams from the YMCA will be providing halftime entertainment. Members of the Mercer County YMCA can purchase tickets for $2 by calling Eric Hutchins at (309)251-0182.
On February 24th the Riverhawks are offering a ticket special for church goers. Bring in your church's bulletin from that week and receive a buy one ticket get one free ticket offer.

Riverhawks Hit the Airwaves
Quad City Riverhawks Willie Mitchell, Keith Gaydon and Bobby Anderson will appear
tomorrow morning at 9:00 am on the Dave and Darrin Show on The Rock 104.9 FM.
Riverhawks to Host Brandon Ballard Night
In addition to the fundraisers this Saturday night, the Quad City Riverhawks will be
hosting "Brandon Ballard Night" at historic Wharton Field House on Saturday, March 15th.
Proceeds from tickets sold through Rockridge High School or in advance from the
Riverhawks will be donated to the family to help offset medical expenses. Tickets are $5 with $3 being donated. To purchase tickets call Rockridge Athletic Director Jeff Flater at (309)795-1736 or the Riverhawks office at
1-866-694-5728. A 50/50 raffle will also be held with proceeds going to the family as well.
Brandon was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy
treatments.
