Cincinnati Riverhawks News Release
(Cincinnati, OH) â The Cincinnati Riverhawks named a new General Manager today, filling the position which has been vacant since last November. Owner and Coach Nick Ranieri tapped Jim Peto as the new General Manager.
"We are very excited to have Jim as our new GM," said Ranieri. "I think we have finally found the right person for the job. Jim has demonstrated the ability to do the job without formerly being GM and he created his own position. Jim has demonstrated an ability to work well with everyone around him. Every owner should be as lucky to find someone like Jim to be their GM."
Peto moves up to the General Manager's position after spending the past month and a half as the Riverhawks Director of Marketing. Jim has an extensive marketing background and is familiar with soccer in Cincinnati. He has been involved in many facets of the Cincinnati soccer scene including coaching the Hammer and the Classics for four years.
"This came as a shock to me," said Peto after being told of the promotion. "Needless to say I am excited for the opportunity and look forward to helping the organization even more than I was before."
The appointment of Peto as GM fills the position which has been vacant since former GM Tim Braddock left the team in November 2002.
As an A-League premier team and part of the United Soccer Leagues, the Cincinnati Riverhawks enter its sixth season in 2003. For tickets and general team information call (513) 326-GOAL or visit www.riverhawks.com.
