Cincinnati Kings Re-Sign Four Players

CINCINNATI (February 27, 2006) - The Cincinnati Kings have announced four re-signings to their 2006 roster. Josh Barton, Salvatore Fiore, Bret Jones, and Tiest Sondaal will be suiting up for the Kings again in 2006.

"These are guys that were instrumental in our first year success," said Kings Head Coach Jon Pickup. "And they will be key players this year helping us compete for a championship."

Barton, a 2005 midseason acquisition, played in 6 games during the 2005 season, logging 480 minutes and scoring one goal. The San Diego native played both defender and midfielder for the Kings last season.

As a starter for most of 2005, Fiore played a total of 1,471 minutes in 18 games as a defender. The former Xavier University player felt at home playing at Xavier finding the net 3 times and recording 2 assists last year.

Jones, another midseason pickup for the Kings in 2005, scored one goal in 11 games, with a total of 885 minutes played. He is a midfielder from Xenia, OH.

Sondaal, a native of the Netherlands, was one of the Kings most consistent players in 2005. As a defender, he played in 18 games for 1,559 minutes and contributing 3 assists. Sondaal was named to the USL Second Division Second Team in 2005.

The Cincinnati Kings will begin their 2006 season in the USL Second Division at the Charlotte Eagles on April 21. The Kings play their first home match May 5 against the Western Mass Pioneers. All homes games will be played at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
