Riverhawks Name Lyons GM; Promote Waugh To Director Of Game Day Operations

The Johnstown Riverhawks of the Atlantic Indoor Football League have named Tim Lyons General Manager. Lyons, from Duncansville, PA has over 10 years sports management experience. Since 1993 he has worked with the Wichita Wranglers (1993), Binghamton Mets (1997), Wichita Wings (1998), and the Altoona Curve (2002).

A 1992 graduate of the University of South Florida, Lyons comes to the Riverhawks after spending 11 years working in baseball's minor leagues. Lyons began his baseball career in 1993 as an intern with the Southern Oregon A's. After the internship Lyons made the jump from short-season class A to AA as he was hired as Ticket Sales Manager for the Wichita Wranglers (Texas League).

Lyons was named Assistant General Manager of the Binghamton Mets (Eastern League AA) in 1996 and spent one year in Binghamton before moving back to Kansas. Lyons was named Assistant General Manager of the Wichita Wranglers in 1998 where he stayed until coming to the Altoona Curve as Director of Group Sales in 2001. Lyons left the Curve in 2002 and spent the last two years as Director of Sales and Marketing for Blue Knob All Seasons Resort.

Tim and his wife, Chari, have two wonderful kids, Maggie, age 7, and Colin, age 2.

The Riverhawks have also announced that Assistant GM Jaleen Waugh has been promoted to Director of Game Day Operations. Waugh will oversee all aspects of operations having to do with game day and will report to Brian Schwelling, the team's owner.
