LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks are once again giving the shirts off their backs to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, this time with the help of the Stateline's favorite football son.

The RiverHawks will take the field for their 7:05 p.m. game on July 15 in one-night-only alternate jerseys inspired by pro football. Fans will have a chance to bid on the jerseys following the game. Proceeds will go to the MDA. Jacksonville Jaguars safety Sean Considine, a Byron native, will make a special appearance at the game.

Considine is a veteran of five NFL seasons with Jacksonville and Philadelphia. Considine had 13 tackles for the Eagles during their 2006 playoff run. Last year, he had 36 tackles and an interception for the Jags.

Over the last four seasons, the RiverHawks have partnered with the MDA in various events and helped raise more than $200,000. Previous featured guests have included racing star Danica Patrick and Chicago Blackhawks forward Jack Skille.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league in its 18th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380 (WTJK-AM) and on ESPN1380.com. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
