RiverHawks host IHSA 4A super-sectional tonight

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Road Ranger Stadium, home of the Rockford RiverHawks professional baseball team, will host four teams in the Illinois High School Association Class 4A Super-Sectional tonight at 4:30 p.m..

Two games will be played. Game one, which begins at 4:30p.m., features Batavia High School against Cary-Grove High School. The second game pairs Barrington High School and New Trier Township High School. The winners of each game will advance to the IHSA state tournament next weekend in Joliet, Ill.

Admission to tonight's super-sectional is $5.00 at the door. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m.

The Rockford RiverHawks are excited to provide the facility for this event. "We are grateful to be partnering with IHSA," says Josh Olerud, General Manager of the RiverHaws. "We desire Road Ranger Stadium to be something the whole state can utilize."

This is the third year Road Ranger Stadium is the host site for the 4A tournament.

The Rockford RiverHawks are the most highly attended minor-league baseball team in the Stateline. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league playing its 17th season this summer.
