Quad City Riverhawks News Release

Davenport, IA- Quad City Riverhawks General Manager Eric Hutchins has announced that the February 23rd Quad City-Chicago Throwbacks game has been moved to Rockridge High School in Edgington, IL. The change in venue was made to allow the Illinois High School Association's Dual Team State Wrestling tournament to be held at Moline's historic Wharton Field House. "With the unfortunate tragedy at Northern Illinois University, Moline High School has stepped up to the plate to help out all the great wrestling teams in the state. Wharton Field House is a wonderful facility to host the state championships. It was in our best interest to help out as well and an alternative location to have our game. I would like to thank Rockridge Athletic Director Jeff Flater for allowing the Riverhawks to play this one game here and giving us the opportunity to introduce a new group of fans to Riverhawks Basketball" said Hutchins.

All Tickets for February 23rd's game will be $5. The Riverhawks will return to Wharton Field House the following afternoon to take on the Reading Railers at 4:00 PM. Any tickets purchased in advance for the February 23rd game will be honored that night or at the game on the 24th.

The Riverhawks will also be raising money for the Brandon Ballard Family. Ballard, a senior at Rockridge, was recently diagnosed with cancer and had his basketball season cut short due to chemotherapy treatments. The team will hold a 50/50 raffle and will be selling basketballs autographed by the Riverhawks team for $10 with all proceeds going to the Ballard family.
