Johnstown January 10, 2006........The Johnstown Riverhawks are announcing the signing of James Booker, FB/LB, Auodiji Washington, DE/NG, D.J.Stancil, WR/DB, Densville Saunders, DE/LB, Gemayel Walker, DB/WR Michael Haywood, DB/WR and Tobias Starnes, DL/OL to the Johnstown Riverhawks.
James Booker FB/LB (6'2''/245) Eastern Michigan Univ. A versatile team player James has the prototypical size and speed for a linebacker in the AIFL. He was an All-State LB at Detroit's Martin Luther King High School. He piled up over 250 tackles in 3 seasons, including 100 during his senior season. Played DE for 2 seasons in college. Booker played in the NIFL during the 2005 season where he played in 14 games and tallied 52.5 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble. 1 fumble recovery, and 4 sacks.
Auodiji Washington OL/DL ( 6'3''/295) Pasadena Community College/Virginia Union University. Auodiji is a big player who has great feet and moves well for his size. He was a starter as a linebacker in high school and college before he moved to the defensive line.. During the 2005 season, Auodiji split time with the Black Hills Red Dogs and the Lubbock Gunslingers. He participated in 8 games where he had over 15 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
Michael Haywood WR/DB ( 6'1''/183) Langston University. Michael is an experienced indoor player who spent time with the Wilkes-Bare/Scranton Pioneers of the af2 during the 2003 season. He also played for the Winston Salem Energy of the NIFL.
D.J.Stancil WR/DB ( 5'9''/185) West Point / Sanford University. As a tailback with Sanford, D.J. scored 10 touchdowns. He adds great speed to the Riverhawks receiving corps.
Densville Saunders DL/FB/LB( 6'1''/260) Western New Mexico University. Densville started in 18 games where he had 70 tackles and 19 tackles for a loss of 101 yards. He also had 13 sacks for -82 yards.
Gemayel Walker WR/DB (5'11''/195) attended school in Tallahassee and was recruited to play in the af2 league prior to his signing with the Riverhawks.
Tobias Starnes OL/DL (6'3''/280) University of Northern Michigan. Tobias was a two year starter on the Offensive line at the University of Northern Michigan.
