Riverdragons Participate in Thanksgiving Events at Fort Benning and Valley Rescue Mission

COLUMBUS, Ga., November 24 – The Columbus Riverdragons will honor members of the Armed Forces and assist the needy with their participation in holiday events on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25. Riverdragons players and staff will be on hand at Fort Benning and the Valley Rescue Mission in Columbus to greet, serve, and eat Thanksgiving meals with soldiers and those in need.

The day's events begin on-post at Fort Benning, where a group of Dragons players and staff are scheduled to greet and eat with members of the Third Infantry Training Brigade, Company Charlie 1/19 from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. . Then, from noon to 1:00 p.m., another group of Dragons players and staff will serve lunch to those in need at the Valley Rescue Mission, at 2nd Ave. and 30th Street in Columbus.

"Much of the Riverdragons success depends upon how we give back to this great community," said Riverdragons Team President J. Barry McMullin. "Our players, coaches, and staff seek out opportunities to get involved and are very willing to meet and serve those who share the Columbus community with us."

The Riverdragons begin a four-game road trip, this Saturday, November 27 as they travel to take on the Huntsville Flight at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Von Braun Center. Following the Dragons match-up with Huntsville, Columbus will travel to Asheville (Nov. 29) and Florida (Dec. 2-3) for three more games to round out the road trip. The Riverdragons will return home Sunday, December 5 to take on Roanoke at the Columbus Civic Center at 6:00 p.m..
