RiverCity Rage Adds Some Impact to Roster

ST. CHARLES MISSOURI: The RiverCity Rage of the Indoor Football League (IFL) announced on Tuesday, January 13 the acquisition of 14 players to their already talented lineup. Among the announced additions to the roster were seven standouts from the University of Missouri, including talented safety Cornelius "Pig" Brown.

"We are very excited to have signed a group of players that have the ability to play at the highest level on the football field," said first year Head Coach Rik Richards. "I have a felling that we are putting the pieces in place to bring home a league championship without a doubt."

The 14 players that were signed combined for 17 All-Conference selections, one Conference Offensive Player of the Year award, one Conference Defensive Player of the Year award, four All-American selections, and five players that have either played in the NFL or have been in a NFL training camp.

In addition to Brown, the Rage signed the following players: Mike Davis (Virginia Tech), Virgil Union (Lane College), Donald Thomas (Eastern Illinois), Thaddeus Coleman (Mississippi Valley State), Vincent Webb (Eastern Illinois), Kurt Kutscher (Henderson State), Wil Rodriguez (Lindenwood University), Jamar "Tank" Smith (U. of Missouri), Charles Gaines (U. of Missouri), Darnell Terrell (U. of Missouri), Paul Simpson (U. of Missouri), Xzavie Jackson (U. of Missouri), and Greg Bracey (U. of Missouri).

"We will not just win, we will dominate," said RiverCity Rage President Art Clarkson. "All coach (Richards) does is win and we want a packed house here at the Family Arena for every game to see us bring home our first championship."

RiverCity will open its season with a home exhibition game against the Gateway Soul on Monday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. and is proud to present "Full it Up Night" at the Family Arena, where all tickets for the game will be just $7.50. The Rage will open the regular season on the road on Saturday, March 21 against Saginaw and will return to St. Charles for their home opener in Week Three against the same Saginaw team on Saturday, April 4.
