Albany River Rats News Release

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that their off-season online jersey auction will begin on Friday, June 13th and will run in weekly installments through Friday, August 29th.

Conducted through Ebay, each auction segment will start at 8:00 pm on the first Friday of the period and each auction will close at 8:00 pm on the final day of the installment. Jerseys marked with an asterisk indicate the Rats home white sweaters that were worn during Game 5 of the 2008 East Division Semifinals, where Albany and Philadelphia set an AHL record for the longest game in league history.

Highlighting the list of 74 Albany River Rats authentic jerseys is the #29 Michael Leighton home jersey that the AHL's 2007-08 Aldege "Baz" Bastien award winner wore during his record-setting 98-save effort (101 shots) in Game 5 against the Phantoms. Other notable jerseys include game-worn sweaters from former River Rats and 2007-08 Carolina Hurricanes forwards Keith Aucoin, Ryan Bayda, Jeff Hamilton, 2007 first round draft pick Brandon Sutter and goaltender John Grahame. Almost all of the jerseys up for auction are game worn and all of them are authentic Rbk River Rats game jerseys.

The auctions can be reached by logging on to AlbanyRiverRats.com and then clicking on the Auction Link on the home page.
