River Drivers Sign Last Season's Plsyoffs Most Valuable Player

Berlin, NH - The Berlin River Drivers Professional Hockey Club are proud to announce the signature of reigning Federal Hockey League's (FHL) Commissioner's Cup Playoff's Most Valuable Player (MVP) to their inaugural season roster, Forward Cody Dion.

Cody Dion is a 6-4, 225 pound offensive forward who played last season with the 2015 FHL's Commissioner's Cup Champions, Watertown Wolves, and was the River Drivers' 1st pick in the 2015 FHL Expansion Draft. Prior to last season, Dion played in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and had stints with the Knoxville Ice Bears (2013-14, 25 games, 11 goals, 9 assists) and the Mississippi RiverKings (2014-15, 9 games, 3 goals, 1 assist) and with the former Central Hockey League's (CHL) Tulsa Oilers (2013-14, 17 games, 2 assists). Last season with the Watertown Wolves he played in 38 regular season games tallying 34 goals and 15 assists, and in the playoffs played in 8 games scoring 6 goals and 4 assists and was named the playoff's MVP.

"Cody was our biggest priority over the summer. He's a big guy with a nose for the net and does all the little things right. Most importantly he is a leader and competes every night, which are qualities you don't often find in younger guys", said General Manager and Head Coach Gabe Yeung. "He is one of most dynamic, yet offensive players in the league and I am very happy to have him on board with us this season in our quest for the Commissioner's Cup".

The River Drivers begin their inaugural season hosting last season's FHL Commissioner's Cup runner ups, the Danville (IL) Dashers on November 14th, starting at 7pm at the Notre Dame Arena.
