T.R. Hughes Ballpark, home of the River City Rascals, will host the 1st Annual Free Wheelchair Mission Midwest Run, Walk, and Roll 5k and 1k run on Saturday, August 8th beginning at 8:00 am in front of T.R. Hughes Ballpark located in O'Fallon, MO. The event is to help raise money for Free Wheelchair Mission and helping transform lives through the gift of mobility.

Free Wheelchair Mission helps to provide wheelchairs to the physically disabled poor in developing countries. In most wealthy countries, a disabled person can get a wheelchair, however, there are over 100,000,000 disabled adults and children for whom the dream of a wheelchair is worlds beyond their expectations. They live without this basic form of mobility by crawling through life or waiting for a loved one to carry them to fulfill the simplest of needs-the disabled and the family members are thereby restricted from a full life. Free Wheelchair Missions vision has bee implemented by contracting with manufacturers in China and over 340,000 wheelchairs have been delivered in over 75 countries.

Fundraising will begin on Wednesday, August 5 "Free Wheelchair Mission Night" during the Rascals home game starting at 7:05 pm against Frontier League opponent, the Southern Illinois Miners. A 50 / 50 raffle and other fun opportunities in-stadium will be available to help raise money for this worthy cause.

To sign up your team of people to participate in the August 8th run you can register online at www.rivercityrascals.com by clicking on the Free Wheelchair Mission 5K RUN logo on the home page. Individuals looking to join a team can sign up to run with the Rascals team Mascot, Ruffy, General Manager Chris Franklin, or coach Steve Brook. The first 200 to sign up online will also receive a ticket to the Saturday, August 8 Rascals game.

The River City Rascals, presented by Progress West Healthcare, and T.R. Hughes Ballpark will host a non-conference baseball clash between the University of Missouri and Eastern Illinois University on Tuesday, April 28th at 6:30 p.m. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

All tickets for the game are only $7.00 on game day and available through the Rascals' box office by calling (636) 240-BATS. Fans can also purchase tickets online at www.rivercityrascals.com. All groups of 20 or more people must contact the Rascals' box office to purchase tickets. Fans can save $1.00 off the ticket price by pre-ordering.

It will be the only meeting of the year between the two schools. Missouri won an 8-6 decision last year at T.R. Hughes Ballpark over Eastern Illinois.

RASCALS INDIVIDUAL TICKETS GO ON SALE SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH

O'Fallon, MO - The River City Rascals, presented by Progress West Health Care, are pleased to announce that individual game tickets will go on sale Saturday, March 28th beginning at midnight.

All fans can purchase tickets online via the Rascals' website, www.rivercityrascals.com, at 12 a.m. The Rascals box office, located at T.R. Hughes Ballpark, will be open later the same day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"This year is shaping up to be a great one for the Rascals with our ticket department," said Senior Director of Ticket Sales Zach Ziler. "We pride ourselves in providing the highest level of entertainment at an affordable cost. Many individuals and families are looking for ways to really stretch their dollars this year and we are a great solution."

All club, box, infield bleacher back, and lawn/outfielder bleacher back tickets qualify for a $1.00 savings off the face value when you pre-order from the Rascals.
