
River City Ballers name head coach, announce open tryouts

River City Ballers News Release
Omaha, NE. Michael Jefferson, CEO of the ABA River City Ballers professional basketball team that begins play in November today announced that Dan Archie would serve as Head Coach. Jefferson stated, "First, I would like to thank Dan and his family for becoming part of this organization. Dan will bring his on and off the court leadership that he has displayed in his career as a student, player and as a coach."
Archie added, "I am excited to be given the opportunity of becoming the first Head Coach for the new ABA expansion team in Omaha (the River City Ballers). I look forward to making the Omaha team competive in this first season. I want to thank Mr. Jefferson for the confidence in my ability to coach at this level of professional basketball. I also want to thank my family for their support in my decision to coach the team."
A former player at Nebraska University from 1986-1990, Archie has served as Head Basketball Coach for the AAU Omaha Tournament Gold Team for four years and won 8 national titles, served as Head Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach at Omaha South High School for 5 years with 4-district runner up titles, and has worked as a trainer for players trying to make professional basketball as a career.
The Ballers will have their first open tryouts on July 29th with pre-registration from 5-8pm and then the tryouts themselves on July 30th from 5-8pm and July 31st from 8am-3pm at the College of Saint Mary, 1901 South 72nd Street, Omaha.
