River Bats sign two pitchers Release Date: July 27, 2002

BATON ROUGE – The Baton Rouge River Bats have signed two new pitchers, adding depth to one of the Southeastern League's top pitching staffs.

Brandon Brown, whom the River Bats claimed in the league's dispersal draft of the Ozark Patriots, signed July 23 and pitched that night against the Selma Cloverleafs. Earlier Saturday, Baton Rouge released starting pitcher Jeremy Robinson, who left the team to take a job with Cox Communications.

In need of starting pitching, the River Bats signed former Ole Miss pitcher Dan McShea. During a four-year career at Ole Miss, McShea compiled a 14-12 record.

McShea started for the River Bats in Friday's 3-1 victory against the Montgomery Wings, pitching seven innings for the win while surrendering the Wings' lone run in the fourth inning.

Corporate Nights are available. Contact the River Bats office at (225) 344-BATS or log on to the River Bats' official Web site, www.brriverbats.com, to receive more information about professional baseball in Baton Rouge.
