River Bandits to honor Mallards

Moline, IL – Members of the 2002-03 United Hockey League Western Conference Champion Quad City Mallards will be honored before the start of Thursday's Midwest League baseball game between the Quad City River Bandits and the Clinton LumberKings at John O'Donnell Stadium in Davenport. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

The Mallards went 41-25-10 (.605) in the regular season, including 23-10-5 (.671) in the second half, winning the regular season Western Conference title. In the playoffs, they defeated the Rockford IceHogs in a three-game sweep in the best-of-five Conference Semifinals, and beat the Muskegon Fury, 4 games to 2, in the best-of-seven Conference Finals. The Mallards were defeated by the Fort Wayne Komets, 4 games to 1, in the Colonial Cup Championship Series, which concluded this past Sunday.

Tickets to Thursday's River Bandits contest are $6 and $8 each and are available at the game or by calling (563) 324-3000.

The Mallards are making preparations for the 2003-04 hockey season. The 76-game regular season gets underway Friday, Oct. 24. Season tickets are now on sale. All 2003-04 season ticket holders will receive guaranteed seats for all 38 regular season home games, plus all playoff games absolutely free! Payment plans are now as low as $22.75 per month!

The Mallards are introducing the Legends Bobblehead Series. Each quality set, valued at more than $100, will contain five limited edition, numbered bobbleheads packaged in a custom designed box. Four of the five bobbleheads have been selected – Sergei Zvyagin, Mark McFarlane, Jason Ulmer, and Coach Paul MacLean.

In addition, all season ticket holders will be entered in a drawing for one of three valuable prize packages, with the grand prize including free Lasik eye surgery at Virdi Eye Clinic and two airline tickets to anywhere in the U.S.
