Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
The River Bandits took an early 2-0 lead on a two out, two-RBI single by Chris Edmondson. The River Bandits scored one more run in the seventh before allowing three runs to tie the game. Immediately after, the Bandits scored two runs in the top of the seventh, eventually winning 5-3.
Bandit starter Trevor Rosenthal (3-5) went six solid innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out two. Cale Johnson came into the game in the seventh and went 1.2 scoreless innings while striking out two. Justin Wright (3) came into the game in the eighth and went 1.1 scoreless innings allowing just one hit.
Offensively, the Bandits collected nine hits. Leading the way was Chris Edmondson, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Greg Garcia also chipped in on offense and went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and scored two runs. Victor Sanchez went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Rosenthal was opposed by Whitecaps starter Brennan Smith. Smith went five innings allowing three runs on three hits while striking out four. Dan Gentzler (1-3) came into the game in the sixth and went 1.1 innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three.
The River Bandits take to the road again on Friday when they travel to South Bend, IN to take on the South Bend Silver Hawks. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. CST at Covelski Stadium.
