
Rivard Leads The Way With A Gordie Howe Hat Trick

[KISSIMMEE, Fla.]- Florida finished off their five game home stand in style with a 6-2 victory over Pee Dee. The Seals swept the weekend series from the Cyclones (12-9-4) to cap off the perfect home stand. In addition to the five wins the Seals scored in each of the 16 periods over the five games on home ice.
Florida (18-11-5) picked up where they left off after last night's overtime victory with three first period goals. Florida's second line of Justin Keller, Ryan Rivard and David Deeves scored four of the six Seals' goals and totaled 10 points.
Rivard got his Gordie Howe hat trick with a first period assist, two goals and a third period fight. Keller scored a goal and had two assists. Assistant Captain David Deeves scored in his second straight game and also picked up three assists in the victory.
Florida goalie Terry Denike had an easy night as his defense only allowed 22 shots on goal. Denike's 20 saves earned him his 15th win of the season.
Florida leaves the Silver Spurs Arena for six weeks. The Seals will travel through every Southern Professional Hockey League city over the next 13 games. The five game winning streak has pushed the Seals to a third place tie in the league and gives them their second longest such streak of the year.
