San Diego Riptide News Release
SAN DIEGO - Players from the San Diego Riptide and the Los Angeles Avengers, participated in a taping of ESPN's newest reality show "I'd Do Anything". The show is scheduled to air Tuesday, October 5th at 7:00pm on ESPN. The Riptide would like to invite the fans to the Beach House Brewery in La Jolla to watch the show, receive 2005 season ticket information, and have a chance to win Riptide merchandise. Drink specials include $2.00 House Pints and $3.00 wells and house wines.
"I'd Do Anything" combines physical and psychological competitions with emotional heart and soul. In each episode, three contestants compete against each other in a series of challenges to win the ultimate sports fantasy for a loved one, be it a round of golf with Tiger Woods or batting practice at Yankee Stadium. It's the new reality series that asks, "How far would you go for your loved one?" and turns a sports stunt into a sports fantasy.
Although details of the shoot are not to be discussed until after the air date, the episode is packed with throws and blows that will make anyone flinch. All-af2 second team selection, Dwight Carter along with Rico Curtis, Ryan Smith, Nakoa McElrath, Jesus Reyes, and Quincy Lejay sported their game faces and Riptide jerseys for the team's first appearance on ESPN. The Avengers brought down five of their own, including all-time receiving and scoring leader, Chris Jackson.
The San Diego Riptide and L.A. Avengers aren't the only arena football teams showcased on cable television. The Philadelphia Soul can be seen on MTV's Real World Philadelphia. Even in the off season, fans are still able to get the arena football fix.
