RimRockers wallop Cajun Pelicans

Little Rock, AR. The Arkansas RimRockers defeated the newly formed Louisiana Cajun Pelicans 126-79. Eight RimRockers scored in double figures with Brian Jackson and Gee Gervin leading the team with 19 points. Daryan Selvy had 13 points, 10 rebounds as did Shawnson Johnson. Three players had double-doubles in the same game with Jackson's 10 rebounds, the first time the RimRockers had accomplished that feat.

The RimRockers jumped to an early lead and never looked back going 57.3 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from the three-point line for the night. The Cajun Pelicans never had a chance to make a come-back. The Pelicans were outrebounded 40-61, dominated in the paint, only scoring 33 points compared to the RimRockers 74. According to Pelicans' coach Sheldon Jones, "Not to take anything away from Arkansas, they're good, but our guys were a little tired from a long road trip - and I'll assure you, the next game will be nothing like this one. We're disappointed."

RimRocker coach Joe Harge added, "We caught them on a bad night - but this was certainly an opportunity to rebuild our confidence also with our upcoming trip to Colorado for back-to-back games. And like Sheldon said, "We know we had better be prepared for the next Cajun Pelican game."
