Arkansas RimRockers News Release

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., May 31-Joe Harge, who led the Arkansas RimRockers to a 32-5 season, has signed a new contract with the team to coach the 2005-06 season, RimRockers president and general manager, Otis Birdsong announced today.

"We are pleased that Joe has resigned. He led us to a great season last year, and we expect the same results this season," Birdsong said. "I know he is just the man for the job."

A native of Albuquerque, NM, Harge played professional basketball nine years in Europe. Prior to accepting the head coaching position for the RimRockers, he spent four seasons at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock as an assistant coach.

"I'm excited about the chance to continue coaching in Arkansas, especially central Arkansas, Harge said. "The NBDL is an exciting league run by people with a passion for basketball and I look forward to the chance to further develop the skills of the players on our team and to work toward bringing home an NBDL title."

The NBDL, the NBA's Development League, just completed its fourth season. The league includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), as well as Albuquerque (N.M.), Tulsa (Okla.) and Austin and Fort Worth (Texas).

The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Thirty-four (34) players have been called up the NBA on 50 separate occasions. Nine former NBDL coaches, five athletic trainers, 11 referees and 29 front office executives have also been called up since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001. Six additional front office executives have earned positions with other major league sports.
