Lansing Ice Nuts News Release
East Lansing, MI â Goaltending was a key in the Lansing Ice Nuts success in their first 10-games played and it continued to do so Saturday night as Glenn Ridler turned aside 43 attempts by the Northern Michigan Predators to backstop his team to a 2-1 win in Harbor Springs, MI. Jon Sereno lead the way offensively with two points (goal; assist).
Ridler faced eleven shots in each the first and second period allowing the Predators to score once when Lee Jenke converted from Dan Howard just 52-seconds into the game. Ridler was able to put that goal aside and stood on his head stopping the next 42 attempts. He was stellar in the third period when he denied all 22 shots faced.
Tim Nelson managed to bring the scoreboard even for the Ice Nuts when he scored his 5th goal of the year from Jon Sereno and Doug Little 31-seconds into the second. Sereno then notched the game winner when he was awarded the team and league's first ever penalty shot when he was hauled down while breaking through the short slot at 3:22 of the third.
Lansing is back in home action Sunday night at Munn Arena on Sunday night (Jan. 4) versus these same Predators. Game time is 7:15 PM.
