Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS - In the wake of the tragic events of last night in downtown Dallas, the Frisco RoughRiders, in coordination with the Dallas Police Department, have announced plans to raise funds to help support the victims' families at the RoughRiders games tonight and tomorrow at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Tonight's game-worn jerseys and hats will be auctioned off to benefit the "Assist the Officer Foundation," which specifically helps the families of the fallen DART and Dallas Police Department officers in this time of great need.
On both Friday and Saturday, the RoughRiders will wear Dallas Police Department "DPD" hats during the game. These hats will be auctioned off both nights with 100% of the proceeds going to the Assist the Officer Foundation. Friday night's Salute to 8-Bit and Arcade Night uniforms will also be auctioned off for the same foundation.
Additionally, through the weekend: The RoughRiders will donate 10% of all revenue from the Riders Outpost (team store) to the Assist the Officer Foundation. There will be an Assist the Officer Foundation donation box located at the top of Section 114 for fans to make direct donations. The Riders will also have a special "Pass the Boot" collection during the games for the foundation, where ushers will walk up and down the aisles of Dr Pepper Ballpark, collecting donations from fans. Fans are encouraged to donate directly to the Assist the Officer Foundation, and can do so through the following link.
The first pitch for both Friday and Saturday's games at Dr Pepper Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
