Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania, Saturday, October 30, 2010 - The Erie BayHawks have begun assembling their training camp roster by extending invitations to eight players, including five returning from the previous two seasons and three via the league's allocation process.
Guards Maureece Rice and Cedric Jackson are among the list of returning players, joined by Kyle Goldcamp, Jarvis Gunter and Frank Tolbert. Tasmin Mitchell arrives via the league's new affiliate allocation rules, and Nate Linhart and Charlie Parker are products of the team's free agent tryouts.
Rice, 6' 1" 220 lbs from George Washington, appeared in all 50 games for Erie during the team's inaugural 2008-09 season. He finished ranked 13th in the league in scoring averaging 18.7 points and adding 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Rice notched 33 points in his final game of the 08-09 season in a 129-108 playoff loss to the Colorado 14ers. He spent time last season playing for Azovmash Mariupol in the Ukraine.
Jackson, 6' 3" 191 lbs from Cleveland State, averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds in 34 games with the BayHawks in 2009-10 while receiving four ten-day call-ups to the NBA (Cleveland - 2, San Antonio and Washington). He participated in the Cleveland Cavaliers training camp and was waived on October 13.
Goldcamp, a 6' 10" 230 lb forward from Gannon University, averaged 3.3 points and 3 rebounds in 32 games with Erie last season.
Gunter, a 6' 10" 220 lb forward from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, is the only two-year returning player. He averaged 2.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 2009-10.
Tolbert, a 6' 0" 221 lb guard from Auburn, joined the team mid-season last year and averaged 6.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18 games.
Mitchell, a 6' 7" 235 lb forward from LSU, was acquired by the Cavaliers following the 2010 NBA draft. He played for the Cavs in the Las Vegas Summer League where he averaged 5.8 points and 5.4 rebounds and was in training camp with the team before being released on October 13. Mitchell is the team's first acquisition resulting from the new league rule granting D-League teams the first opportunity to claim the rights of players released from their affiliate training camps.
Linhart, a 6' 8" 205 lb forward from Akron, spent the 2009-10 season with the BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers in Austria where he averaged 11.1 points and 4 rebounds in 44 games.
Parker, a 6' 4" 195 lb guard from Millersville University, spent parts of the last two seasons with the Los Angeles D-fenders where he averaged 6.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 32 games. Parker was a two-time PSAC East player of the year while at Millersville.

The BayHawks have the 15th selection in the first round with successive rounds following a serpentine format.
