
Rhinos ready for rematch

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Raging Rhinos (10-6-3, 33 points) will look to make up for lost points last weekend as the close out a busy moth of July this weekend.
On Saturday night, the Rhinos will host the Richmond Kickers (19-10-6, 33 points) at 8:00 p.m. in a rematch of last Friday night's 0-0 draw. The match will be televised live on WHEC-TV 10. The contest will also be broadcast on Fickle 93.3 FM and via webcast at www.rhinossoccer.com.
In the match on July 22nd, the Rhinos were outshot 14-5, but still managed to gain one point for a final result. Goalkeeper Scott Vallow made two saves to earn his sixth shutout of the season. The Rhinos hold the all-time series lead with an 8-4-2 mark. This season, the Kickers are led by forward Matthew Delicate, who is currently ranked fourth in the First Division with 18 points (8+2). Kickers goalkeeper Ronnie Pascale leads the First Division in wins (10) and is second in saves with 70.
The next night, the Rhinos will host the Colorado Rapids (6-11-3, 21 points) of Major League Soccer in a "friendly" match at Frontier Field at 6:05 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on Fickle 93.3 FM and via webcast at www.rhinossoccer.com. The Rapids are currently in fourth place in the MLS' Western Conference. Colorado is lead by the MLS' leading goal scorer Jeff Cunningham with 10. Goalkeeper Joe Cannon has appeared in all 20 matches for the team this season.
The Rhinos are 6-2-2 in their last 10 matches and have outscored their opponents 16-6 in those games. Midfielder John Ball and defender Bill Sedgewick will return to the Rhinos roster after sitting out both of their USL suspensions. Sedgewick missed six matches, while Ball has missed three. Forward Kirk Wilson continues to lead the team in scoring with 19 points (8+3). His point total (19) and goal total (8) ranks him third among USL First Division leaders in both categories. Goalkeeper Scott Vallow currently ranks third in the goal-against average category with an 0.83 mark. On the season, the rhinos lead the USL First Division in offensive productivity with 30 goals. The Rhinos are 10-1-0 when they pick up the first goal of the match. The team has also allowed six goals from the 76th minute to the 90th minute during matches on the season.
