Toronto Lynx News Release
The Toronto Lynx will continue their 2005 USL First Division schedule on Wednesday as they travel to Seattle to face the Sounders at 10pm (EDT) at Qwest Field. After entering the past weekend on a four-game unbeaten streak, the Lynx dropped two matches in a row to the defending USL First Division Champion, Montreal Impact, who continued their undefeated season and moved into first place with a 10-0-5 record.
The Lynx will be hoping to rebound versus the Sounders who sit a 8-3-6 and in fifth place in the USL First Division. This will be the second meeting of the season between the clubs after the Lynx topped the Sounders 2-1 to earn their first home win of the season on July 16th. That match was the 2005 debut for striker, Charles Gbeke, who scored once and now has 2 goals for the Lynx, who are 2-2-0 since Gbeke joined the club. The big striker was named to last week's USL First Division Team of the Week for his performances, the first such honour of his 5-year USL First Division career with Vancouver, Seattle and Toronto. The Sounders shrugged off their loss to the Lynx by beating the Minnesota Thunder 1-0 in their last match to move to a very impressive 5-1-3 record on home turf.
