RGV Silverados Sign First Player

Keith Simpson (6'7-220-Forward) has signed a contract to play with the Rio Grande Valley Silverados this upcoming 2007-08 season.

Simpson, who is originally from San Antonio, TX will be a rookie player on the professional level, but has demonstrated excellent skills on the collegiate level while playing at Texas A & M International University. Simpson averaged 18.0 ppg and 7 rpg during the two seasons that he played at Texas A & M International U. He was named to All-Conference and All-Region teams during his senior season. Simpson also earned Honorable Mention All-American Honors.

During Simpson's first two seasons on the collegiate level he attend McLennan Community College, where he was also an All-Conference and All-Region player during his sophomore season, while averaging 12.4 ppg and 7 rpg.

Simpson attended Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio. For his high school career he averaged 24.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, and 4.1 apg. Keith was an All-City and All-District Player, and also earned Honorable Mention McDonalds All-American Honors.

Simpson will be vying for a position on the Silverados Active Roster for the upcoming season. The Silverados Players will report to Veterans Training Camp on October 18th. The Silverados Training Camp will be held here in McAllen. The Silverados will tip-off their inaugural season in early November.
