RGV FC Toros to Hold 2016 Tryouts on January 16

HOUSTON (Friday, Jan. 8, 2016) - The Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, the USL hybrid affiliate of the Houston Dynamo, will hold their first tryouts on Jan. 16 and 17 at the McAllen Sports Park in McAllen, Texas. RGV FC head coach Wilmer Cabrera and the Dynamo technical staff will be on hand to evaluate talent. Tryouts for the RGV FC Development Academy's U-16 and U-14 teams will also take place.

RGV FC TOROS PROFESSIONAL
Date: January 16-17, 2016
Location: McAllen Sports Park - 3301 Buddy Owens Blvd., McAllen, Texas 78504
Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Jan. 16)
Ages: 18+
Dress Code: white shirt and white shorts - no team/ or club logos will be allowed.
Fee: $100 online registration prior to the event - $150 if registering the day of tryouts
DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
Date: January 16-17, 2016
Location: McAllen Sports Park - 3301 Buddy Owens Blvd., McAllen, Texas 78504
Time: 2 - 5 p.m. (Jan. 16)
Ages: U-16 (1999-2000), U-14 (2001-02)
Dress Code: white shirt and white shorts - no team/ or club logos will be allowed.
Fee: $10 if paid in advance - $20 the day of the tryout

The Dynamo and RGV FC formed a hybrid affiliation in July. As part of the partnership, the Dynamo control all technical aspects of the club, including the selection and formation of the coaching staff as well as the construction of the roster. RGV FC, which operates the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, will manage business operations for the club, including the current construction of a 9,400-seat state-of-the-art soccer stadium in Edinburg, Texas, 330 miles southwest of Houston, across the USA-Mexico border from Reynosa.
To date, Dynamo Academy products Christian Lucatero and Juan "Charly" Flores have been announced as members of the inaugural RGVFC roster in 2016. The Dynamo will continue to construct the inaugural RGVFC roster ahead of the club's first preseason in March 2016.
