EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (2-4-5) hosted Eastern Conference opponent Charleston Battery (7-2-3) on Saturday night at H-E-B Park. Augustine Williams led the night as his brace handed Charleston their second consecutive win.

Th match was delayed at the 21' minute mark as a lightning strike was registered within 10 miles of

H-E-B Park. Play resumed nearly 40-minute later as RGV FC attempted to resume their offensive rhythm.

Christiano Francois sent a crossing shot at goal, where Muse was forced to make the 5th save of the night, at just the 23-minute mark.

Augustine Williams found a loose ball inside the box at the 29th minute and punished Carlos Merancio as he sent the ball into the net to open the score sheet for Charleston, 0-1.

Juan Cabezas struck one off the post at the 35th minute to give the Toros another chance at goal, the near miss kept the match, 0-1.

Frank Nodarse conceded a penalty at the 63-minute mark as a counter-attacking play developed for Charleston; on the ensuing try, Williams put it away to make it 2-0 in favor of the visiting side and locked in a brace on the night.

Rio Grande was unable to find their rhythm as they dropped the second match in a row at H-E-B Park and were unable to score a lone goal.
