SEASIDE, California - Rio Grande Valley FC (WEST | 1-2-4) played Monterey Bay Union FC ( WEST | 3-3-3) to a scoreless draw at Cardinale Stadium. Both sides showed strong defensive qualities as they prevented netted balls in the contest, despite Rio Grande (10) doubling the shots taken category over Monterey Bay (5).

Morey Donor presented the early offensive threat in favor of Monterey Bay Union FC as he approached the box dribbling in the 14th minute of action; he sent a shot to the bottom right corner of goal, but Tyler Deric was there to deflect it to corner, ending the threat, 0-0.

Taylor Davila presented a well-placed shot to the bottom right corner of goal to mark Rio Grande's first danger at goal at the 34-minute mark; Siaha made the save on the play, scooting the ball to corner on a low diving block, 0-0.

The Toros ended the opening half outshooting Monterey Bay 8 shots to one, while playing a collective possession game to limit the danger from the home side.

In the ensuing 45-minutes of action, the match remained tightly deadlocked as both sides played to a stalemate; RGV FC managed twice as many shots in the evening (10), while managing to lock in a draw despite some late-stage efforts by Monterey Bay Union.

RGV FC showed much improvement in the control of pace and passing lanes in the match and managed to keep the attacking third congested most of the evening, a welcomed site on the pitch.

RGV FC head home to take on New Mexico United on Friday, May 5 at H-E-B Park on "Toros, Tacos and Tequila" night.
