EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (6-3-3, 21 pts.) will play at Orange County SC (6-3-3, 21 pts.) on Saturday, July 17 with kickoff set at 7 p.m. CST.
RGV FC has an overall record of 2-2-0 at Championship Soccer Stadium. The last time RGV FC played as a visitor at Orange County, the Toros fell 2-1 on June 1.
RGV FC: The Toros are still led by Elvis Amoh at four goals, closely trailed by Wan Kuzain at three goals. Kuzain leads with 19 total shots and Christian Sorto follows with 16 shots. James Murphy has dished out three assists, tied at eight overall in the USL, he adds on 10 created chances. Rodrigo Lopez continues to lead the squad with 21 created opportunities. Adrian Diz Pe also leads defensively with 54 clearances (tied at second in USL), 28 interceptions, 18 tackles while winning 35 aerial duels. Tyler Deric has totaled 22 saves while having kept three clean sheets and conceding 13 goals. Collectively, the Toros have scored 17 goals, earning a 15.5% conversion rate. The squad has been able to complete 81.2% of the passes distributed.
OCS: The club's top scorer is Ronaldo Damus with six goals in eight appearances, totaling 19 shots while ranking eight in the USL standings with his goals scored. Right behind is Eero Markkanen with four goals and Christopher Wehan with three, three assists and creating 19 chances. Brent Richards has distributed four assists, ranking tied at third in the USL, and 12 created chances. At the goal, Patrick Rakovsky has totaled 21 saves (two clean sheets) in seven games while Abraham Romero has totaled 15 (three clean sheets) in six appearances. Altogether, they have conceded 11 goals and the five total clean sheets rank tied at first in the Championship. Rob Kiernan has totaled 48 clearances and 12 interceptions with 25 aerial duels won. Richards has totaled 31 clearances, 20 interceptions and 11 tackles while winning 19 aerial duels. As a group, Orange County have earned an 81.8% passing success rate. They have finished 18 times, ranking ninth in the USL and has earned an 18.4% conversion rate.
