Texas Revolution News Release
Allen, TX - In a game that saw a little bit of everything, the Texas Revolution (5-6) outlasted the Green Bay Blizzard (4-7) 60-56.
The Revolution ended the first quarter leading 14-0, and were set to head into the second half with a double digit lead. The combination of a Blizzard rouge and a booming 31 yard field goal, left the Revs with only a 31-25 halftime lead.
Green Bay opened the second half with a field goal and took their lone lead of the game, 35-34 on a rushing touchdown midway through the 3 quarter.
The Revolution quickly responded by scoring 10 straight points. Although Texas held the lead for the remainder of the game, it never felt comfortable as Green Bay stayed within striking distance.
A late defensive stand by the Revolution was the defining stop of the second half. The Revs forced the Blizzard to turn the ball over on downs after starting 1 and goal.
