Reno's Farmer Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Dec. 14, 2009 - Desmon Farmer of the Reno Bighorns was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the Week of Dec. 7. Farmer is the first Bighorn to earn the honor this season and the third player overall.

For the week, Farmer led Reno to back-to-back wins over the Utah Flash and Bakersfield Jam.

The USC product averaged 26.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 41 percent (15-of-37) from the field and .317 (6-of-19) from beyond the three-point arc. On Saturday, Dec. 12, Farmer recorded the NBA D-League season's first triple-double when he scored 20 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and dished out 11 assists in the win over the Jam.

The selection is the second in Farmer's career. He was also named NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of March 31, 2008.

Other top performers last week included Dakota's Maurice Baker, who averaged 22.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games for the Wizards; Idaho's Sundiata Gaines, who averaged 28.0 points and 6.5 assists in two games for the Stampede; Rio Grande Valley's Garrett Temple, who averaged 18.3 points and 1.6 rebounds in three games for the Vipers; Iowa's Mark Tyndale, who averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games for the Energy; and Sioux Falls' Reggie Williams, who averaged 27.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in one game for the Skyforce.
