NEW YORK, Mar. 16, 2011 ‚¬" The San Antonio Spurs signed guard Danny Green of the Reno Bighorns for the remainder of the season for the 16th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. Green ‚¬â„¢s call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 89.

In 16 games (15 starts) with the Bighorns this season, Green has averaged 20.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Green has averaged 25.6 points and 10.4 rebounds in his last five games, and has led the Bighorns to an 11-5 record since joining the team in January.

A second-year pro, Green (6-6, 210) was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second-round (46th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft. He appeared in 20 games with the Cavs last season, averaging 2.0 points in 5.8 minutes, and was assigned to the Erie BayHawks for two games. Signed by the Spurs in November, Green averaged 3.0 points in 4.5 minutes in two games with San Antonio.

A McDonald ‚¬â„¢s All-American in high school, Green played in 145 games at North Carolina, winning more (123) than any Tar Heel in history. In four years at UNC, Green finished as the only player in Atlantic Coast Conference history to tally at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-pointers, 150 blocks and 150 steals. As a senior in 2008-09, Green averaged 13.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks in 38 games (all starts), helping to lead North Carolina to the NCAA Championship.

Green is expected to join the Spurs today and should be available when the team travels to play the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
