Reno to Start Three-Match Road Swing at OKC Energy FC

July 15, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Reno 1868 FC News Release

RENO, Nev. - Riding a three-match winning streak, Reno 1868 FC is set to head to Oklahoma to take on OKC Energy FC in the first of three straight road matches. Reno sits in third in the USL's Western Conference, and last played a USL match on Wednesday July 3. OKC will be the first of three road matches in a week for the boys in blue.

Reno owns a 3-2-1 lead all time against OKC, with the draw coming earlier this season. OKC scored two goals in stoppage time on March 30th to tie things up at Greater Nevada Field.

OKC has gone 6-5-8 on the season, with their 26 points good for tenth in the western conference. Energy FC being in the top ten means that four of Reno's last five matches have come against teams currently in playoff position. Reno has gone 2-1-0 in the previous three matches.

Reno's last USL action was a 4-0 win over Rio Grande Valley FC on July 3. Last week, 1868 topped Club America's U20 team in an international friendly. Los Azules are winners of their last three matches, with the last two coming by way of the shutout. Goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski has allowed just one goal during the streak. Midfielder Sam Gleadle has recorded two assists and two goals as well.

Reno begins the road trip 3-3-2 away from home, while OKC is 4-2-4 at home. Competition gets underway from Taft Stadium at 6:00 p.m. PT, and will be streamed on ESPN+.
