Reno 1868 FC News Release

RENO, Nev. - Reno 1868 FC has signed former Sacramento State forward Benjamin Kikanovic to a 2020 contract, pending league and federation approval.

"Benji's a player that we scouted at our San Jose Earthquakes combine," said head coach Ian Russell. "He came down to our combine and really impressed us. He's a mobile striker who has good pace, times his runs well and likes to get in behind."

Kikanovic comes to Reno after a solid two-year career at Sacramento State that saw the Calif. native score nine goals and tally five assists.

As a freshman, Kikanovic was named the Big West co-Freshman of the Year, and as a sophomore was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region third team.

"He's a younger player that definitely has a lot of potential," said Russell. "It'll be fun to see how he develops."

With the signing, Reno 1868 FC's 2020 roster stands as follows:

Defenders: (3) Brent Richards, Thomas Janjigian, Yosimar Hernandez

Midfielders: (5) Sam Gleadle, Mouhamed Dabo, Tucker Bone, Sergio Rivas, Kevin Partida

Forwards: (2) Corey Hertzog, Benjamin Kikanovic
