Reno Bighorns to be Affiliated with Sacramento, Atlanta, Memphis
July 7, 2011 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns will be affiliated with the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies for the 2011-12 NBA Development League season, the league announced today.
The Bighorns-coming off a record-setting season in which they won a franchise-best 34 games and their first-ever playoff series-retain the Kings as a parent club for the fourth-straight season.
The upcoming season will be the first that Reno will be affiliated with the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies. Atlanta had been affiliated with the Utah Flash, who are on hiatus, while Memphis was affiliated with the Dakota Wizards, who were recently purchased by the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors' purchase of Dakota ends the Bighorns' one-year affiliation with Golden State.
Both Atlanta and Memphis were playoff teams during the 2010-11 season. The Hawks knocked off Orlando in the first round before falling to Chicago in the conference semifinals, while Memphis upset top-seeded San Antonio in the opening round before losing to Oklahoma in seven games in the Western Conference semifinals.
The Reno Bighorns will open their fourth season this November, with season tickets available today. Fans can get more information on full- and partial-season tickets by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting RenoBighorns.com.
