
Renegades Win Over Cyclones

Wappingers Falls, N.Y. - The Hudson Valley Renegades rallied for three in the bottom of the seventh, erasing an early deficit to defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones 8-5 on Wednesday night at Dutchess Stadium.
Brooklyn struck first against Hudson Valley starter Matt Sauer. In the top of the first, Nic Gaddis slammed a three-run homer to give the Cyclones a 3-0 lead three batters into the game.
In the bottom of the second, Aldenis Sanchez and Carlos Narvaez singled to start the inning, Trey Sweeney banged an RBI double, and Everson Pereira brought home Narvaez with a grounder to trim the deficit to 3-2. In the following frame, Tyler Hardman blasted a solo homer to tie the game. Aldenis Sanchez followed with an RBI single, then stole second and third, and came home on a Cooper Bowman single to give the Renegades a 5-3 lead.
Brooklyn answered in the top of the fifth on a Shervyen Newton RBI double to cut the Hudson Valley lead to 5-4.
Sauer exited after grinding out 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking just one.
In the top of the seventh, Matt Rudick launched a solo shot off Ryan Miller (1-1) to knot the game at five.
The Renegades immediately grabbed the lead back in the bottom of the seventh against Nolan Clenney (2-4). Pereira and Anthony Seigler laced RBI doubles, and Seigler raced home on a Spencer Henson grounder, jolting Hudson Valley to an 8-5 lead.
Nelson Alvarez fired 1.2 shutout innings to slam the door and notch his second save, walking one and striking out three.
Hudson Valley continues its series with Brooklyn tomorrow night at Dutchess Stadium. RHP Beck Way (3-3, 3.97) takes the ball for the Renegades, while the Cyclones tab LHP Nick Zwack (1-1, 1.85).
