Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA â The Ottawa Renegades Football Club issues the following statement after the passing of legendary football coach Frank Clair.
The rich historic tradition of football in Ottawa has had the groundwork laid by the likes of people such as Frank Clair. His name is synonymous with football in the nation's capital and the Renegades are honoured to play in the stadium named after him.
Frank Clair was an icon, a legend and will be missed.
His legacy, not only in this city, but across Canada, will benefit generations to come.
"He epitomized the Ottawa franchise. Whenever people talk, they talk about Frank Clair," said Renegades CEO John Lisowski. "Nobody â coach or player â comes as close as Frank Clair as representing football in this community. Many of the greats we refer fondly about played for Frank Clair, and it's their jerseys that hang retired in the stadium bearing his name."
