
Rematch With Bloomington This Saturday

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats continue their home stand this Saturday night when they take on the Bloomington Extreme at Roberts Stadium. Both teams enter this game coming off of losses last week, Evansville was defeated 47-45 in a very close contest with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds, while Bloomington also lost at home 42-16 to the Lexington Horsemen. This weekend's game is the second meeting between the two teams this season, as Evansville played at Bloomington back on April 15th. The Extreme won that game 54-47 as Bloomington scored the game winning touchdown with 1:15 to go in the 4th quarter. Saturday's game against Bloomington is sponsored by Acclaim Graphics. All Law Enforcement and Fire Department personnel in uniform will be admitted free. To claim your free ticket, Law Enforcement and Fire Department personnel in uniform should go to the Ticketmaster box office at Roberts Stadium on the day of the game and pick up a complimentary ticket.
Evansville (3-6) and Bloomington (4-5) enter the game right in the think of the UIF playoff race. Currently, a total of 6 teams in the league own either a (4-5) or (3-6) record as they fight it out for the final 3 spots in the UIF Playoffs.
BlueCats kicker Ton-Ton Luzayadio was named UIF Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts last weekend against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds. Luzayadio set a new team and league record when he was a perfect 6-6 on his field goal tries in the game. He was also 3-3 on extra points. The 21 points scored in the game also sets a new single game league record for kickers.
BlueCats linebacker John Winchester leads the league with an average of nearly 9 tackles per game, and 14.5 tackles for loss this season.
This week against Bloomington, the Harley Davidson motorcycles from ABATE of Indiana - Region 8 will return to Roberts Stadium. They will be on hand and participate in the BlueCats pre-game ceremonies.
The Gus Doerner Charity football toss will once again be taking place at halftime. Before the game and during the first half of all 2006 home games, fans can purchase footballs to be "tossed" at targets on the field during halftime for a chance to win prizes from Gus Doerner sports. Saturday's charity is Wish Upon A Star.
Kickoff on Saturday will be at 7:05pm. The gates at Roberts Stadium will open at 6pm. The BlueCats invite fans to show up early and tailgate with your fellow fans. The first 1,000 fans that enter the gates will receive a free mini megaphone from Acclaim Graphics, along with free game programs and Evansville BlueCats Spirit Signs.
