October 25, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
BOISE, ID - The Ontario Reign (4-3-0-0), defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, fell 7-2 to the Idaho Steelheads (4-2-0-0) in a game that marked the midpoint of Ontario's seven-game road trip.
Kael Mouillierat put Idaho up 1-0 just over a minute into play before Ontario grabbed a 2-1 lead on goals by Cameron Burt and Brady Calla. Burt snapped a rebound past Josh Robinson at 3:43 and Calla buried the rebound of Mario Lamoureux's slap shot from the left circle at 5:54. The lead held until 13:15 when Gord Baldwin scored the equalizer. Austin Fyten's tally at 16:12 gave Idaho a 3-2 lead going into the first intermission.
Idaho jumped out to a 5-2 lead on goals by Patrick Cullity and Austin Smith. JF Berube replaced Chris Carrozzi in net for the final 27:14 of the game. Jacob Cepis made it 6-2 when his dump-in attempt took a funny bounce off the glass and found its way into the Reign net.
Justin Dowling capped off the scoring for Idaho with a power-play goal at 7:12 - the Steelheads' third with the extra attacker of the night. The Reign outshot their opponent 10-8 in the third period, but couldn't get the puck behind Robinson.
Robinson stopped 27 of Ontario's 29 shots in the win. Carrozzi took the loss with 11 saves on 16 shots. Berube stopped 8 of 10 shots.
Three Stars:
1. IDH - Jacob Cepis
