April 2, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Swift Current Broncos News Release
Swift Current, Sask. - The Western Hockey League (WHL) announced on Monday that Broncos goaltender Reid Dyck has been named the Goalie of the Week for Week One of the WHL Playoffs, presented by Nutrien.
The 2004-born Dyck (Winkler, Man.) was stellar for the Broncos during the first two games of the Broncos playoff series with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, helping the club to a 2-0 series lead.
In game one on Friday, Dyck made 33 saves in the Broncos 3-0 win. His performance was highlighted by 19 saves in the third period. The Boston Bruins prospect became just the eighth goaltender in Modern Broncos History (Since 1986/1987) to record a playoff shutout. He also became the second Broncos goalie since 1996 to get a shutout in his playoff debut with the club. Meanwhile, in game two, Dyck stopped 29 of 32 shots he saw in the Broncos 4-3 win.
Of the 10 goalies that faced 60 or more shots through 2 games, Dyck's 3 goals-against were the least of any of those goalies and he was the only netminder to record a clean sheet through the first weekend.
