Chicago Rush News Release
CHICAGO (May 31, 2011) - Chicago Rush WR Reggie Gray has been named Ironman of the Week, the AFL announced Tuesday afternoon. Rush DB Vic Hall was also named Co-Defensive Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Kansas City DL Bryan Robinson according to the league.
Gray continued his outstanding season on Sunday against the Tulsa Talons as he registered eight receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. He also scored on a 54-yard kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Through 11 games this season, Gray has scored a team-high of 30 touchdowns. He also leads the team with 1,237 receiving yards.
"Reggie has had a phenomenal first half of the season," said head coach Bob McMillen. "I am excited to see that he is finally receiving the recognition he deserves."
Hall accumulated 11 solo tackles in Sunday's game. He also recorded two more interceptions on the season. Hall now leads the league with 11 interceptions, and is just two interceptions away from tying the all-time AFL record of 13.
"I cannot think of a more deserving player," said McMillen. "Hall has been performing week in and week out for us and has 11 picks in 11 games. In my opinion, he is the best DB in the league."
