
Reed Named Cal League June Player of Month

LANCASTER, Calif. - Minor League Baseball announced that JetHawks first baseman A.J. Reed has been named the California Player of the Month for June.
Reed, who was also named the Cal League's Player of the Month for May, hit .434 (43x99) in 25 games during the month with six home runs, 30 RBI and a 1.206 OPS. His RBI-total led all of the minors while he walked more (19) than he struck out (17).
Reed also recorded a 13-game hitting streak during the month, hitting .529 (27x51) over the stretch.
The Astros second round pick in the 2014 draft, Reed leads the Cal League in a myriad of offensive categories in his second professional season including batting average (.344), home runs (22), RBI (77), runs scored (73), total bases (198), walks (58), on-base percentage (.447), slugging (.631) and OPS (1.078).
