The Red Wolves travel to Charlotte for their third road trip of the 2023 season to take on Charlotte Independence at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Chattanooga took the 2022 series against Charlotte with a 2-0-1 record, including a USL League One record setting 7-1 win at CHI Memorial Stadium on June 22, 2022. The clubs next meet on Saturday, June 24th in Chattanooga and close out the three match set in Charlotte on Saturday, September 9th.

Coming off of an exciting 3-3 draw against Union Omaha on Saturday, May 20th, Chattanooga looks to build momentum into a two week stretch of road matches. In their last outing, the Red Wolves came back three separate times in the second half to split points with Omaha with goals from Chevone Marsh (53'), Ropapa Mensah (73'), and Alex Tejera (90+3'). In the last play of the match, a late penalty kick had the chance to seal the win for Chattanooga, but Walter Varela was denied by the Omaha goalkeeper to secure the draw.

Charlotte picked up a win in their last match in a derby against North Carolina FC at home on Sunday, May 21st with a final score of 2-1 to keep them in the second place spot of the table. NCFC notched the first goal of the match in the 47th minute, but Charlotte came back in the 61st minute to tie and scored the game winner in the 81st minute off of striker Khori Bennett.

The Red Wolves stay on the road through Saturday, June 3rd against Richmond before returning home on Wednesday, June 7th against Forward Madison.
