Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DAYTONA BEACH , Fla. - Tuesday nights at the Red Tail Bar and Grill just got a little more interesting. The popular Beach Street establishment in Daytona Beach will serve as the location for the weekly broadcast of the Daytona Beach Thunder coach's show.
Sponsored by Compugenie, the 60-minute show will feature a recap of game action, interviews with Head Coach Ervin Bryson and Thunder players, appearances by the Lightning dance team, autograph sessions, and whatever else we can come up with.
Red Tail will offer drink and food specials during the show, which will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on WSBB (1230 AM) and online at the team's web site ( http://www.dbthunder.net ) through Teamline. Director of Communications Dan Ryan will serve as host. The first airing will be Tuesday, February 21.
"Red Tail will be a perfect venue,'' Ryan said. "We're hoping that audience participation will play a major role in creating some excitement. Thanks to Hank Foley for offering the space [and the food] and his enthusiasm for the team."
Foley, who co-owns the nightspot with Mike Masella, will serve as host for the Thunder's TV show - "Thirty Minutes of Thunder and Lightning" on DBCC Public Broadcasting 15 beginning in March.
Compugenie, the official web site design company of the Thunder owned by Director of Technology Bob Schmitt, is the official sponsor for the show.
"Bob has once again stepped up and made this possible," Ryan said. "He' s made my job of promoting the team so much easier with his expertise."
