Rebellion Drains the Juice out of the Dallas Charge

The Pennsylvania Rebellion and the Dallas Charge played in the second game of a two game series today at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, PA. The Rebellion were able to earn a split of the series with a victory today when they trounced Dallas by a final score of 15-1. 

After each team was set down in order in the 1st inning, the scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd when Rookie Short Stop Chaley Brickey's sacrifice fly pushed across the first run of the game and gave the Rebellion a 1-0 lead.

The Rebellion offense exploded in the 3rd inning when they scored seven runs and sent ten batters to the plate. Second Baseman started the festivities with an RBI triple that scored Right Fielder Victoria Hayward, who had reached based on an error. Winfield would come in to score on a passed ball. Left Fielder Alexa Peterson came up with a RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0. Another run scored when Mandy Ogle reached on the 2nd Dallas error of the inning. It was followed by a 2-run single by Chaley Brickey. The Kansas Jayhawk product, Brickey, already has 5 RBI's in the season's first week. Third Baseman Whitney Arion grounded into a double play, but yet another run scored to make the score 8-0, Rebellion.

Dallas got on the board in the top of the 4th when Left Fielder Kylee Lahners hit a solo home run. 

The Rebellion kept the hot hitting going in the bottom of the 4th by plating five more runs. First Baseman Alisa Goler's RBI single scored one and a throwing error allowed a second run to score on the play. Alexa Peterson continued her strong day when her 2-run homer made it 12-1. Victoria Hayward would add an RBI single to make it 13-1 at the end of the 4th. 

The final blow of the day for Pennsylvania came in the form of another home run. The 2016 NPF College Draft First Overall Pick, Lexie Elkins, hit a 2-run bomb on the very first pitch she saw in her career. The blast extended the Rebellion lead to 15-1.

Pitcher Miranda Kramer led the Rebellion in the circle with her strong effort this afternoon. She tossed five innings while allowing just one run on five hits and striking out seven in the win. Pitcher Emma Johnson came in to pitch the 6th and 7th and allowed just one base runner in two scoreless frames.

Left Fielder Alexa Peterson is the Powerhandz Player of the Game for her performance. She finished 3-3 at the plate with two singles, a home run, 3 RBI, and a stolen base. 

The Dallas Charge (1-1) will have a few days off before heading to Chicago to start a three game series versus the Bandits next Wednesday. The Rebellion (2-2) head home for the true home opener of the season as they battle the expansion Scrap Yard Dawgs. The series gets started on Sunday night at 8:00pm at Consol Energy Park in Washington, PA.
