
Real Salt Lake Signs Eight to Short-Term Agreements

Sandy, Utah - Real Salt Lake has announced the signing of eight players to short-term agreements ahead of Tuesday night's friendly against FC Internazionale at Rio Tinto Stadium. DF Chris Schuler, DF Emilio Orozco, DF Tyler Arnone, DF Max Lachowecki, MF Andrew Brody, MF Alec Sundly, MF Ricardo Velazco and FW Kevaughn Frater all play with Real Monarchs SLC and will return to the USL club following the match on Tuesday night.
Schuler has six starts for the Monarchs this season after playing the previous six seasons with Real Salt Lake. After injuries shortened his 2015 season, he signed with the Monarchs prior to the 2016 season.
Orozco is in his second season with the Monarchs, logging 15 appearances this season to bring his two-season total to 37 matches.
Arnone is also in his second season and has two goals in 18 appearances this year to total 38 in two seasons with the Monarchs.
Lachowecki was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, 25th overall. He signed with the Monarchs after training camp and has made 16 appearances at left back for the USL club this season.
Brody is in his first season with the Monarchs after three seasons at the University of Louisville. The RSL-Arizona Academy product has one goal in 16 appearances this year.
Sundly is in his second year with the Monarchs after previously playing with the New England Revolution and Rochester Rhinos. He had one goal in 25 matches last year and has taken over the captain's armband this season, notching one goal in 19 matches in his second season with the club.
Velazco is another product of the RSL-Arizona Academy and Louisville. Now in his second season with the Monarchs, Velazco is the club's leading scorer with seven goals and four assists in 17 matches this season, giving him nine goals and eight assists in 40 career matches.
Frater is in his first season with the Monarchs and has one goal and one assist in 13 matches.
MLS clubs may sign players from their USL affiliate to short-term agreements (up to four-day contracts) for CONCACAF Champions League, AMWAY Canadian Championship, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and exhibition matches. An MLS club may sign a player to a maximum of four short-term agreements each season (maximum of 16 days).
TRANSACTION: Chris Schuler, Emilio Orozco, Tyler Arnone, Max Lachowecki, Andrew Brody, Alec Sundly, Ricardo Velazco and Kevaughn Frater signed short-term agreements with Real Salt Lake on July 19, 2016.
