
Real Monarchs SLC Exercises Seven Player Options for 2019 Season

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC announced today an update to its roster as preparations for the 2019 United Soccer League season commence. All contracts are subject to United Soccer League and Federation approval.
The club has exercised the contract options on seven players from its 2018 roster, with three players already under contract ahead of the 2019 season.
The Monarchs exercised the options of defenders Kalen Ryden, Konrad Plewa, Andrew Brody and James Moberg; and midfielders Justin Portillo, Josh Heard and Maikel Chang.
Midfielder Masta Kacher and defender Stanley Okumu were already under contract for the 2019 season. Additionally, the Monarchs have permanently acquired midfielder Jack Blake from Tampa Bay Rowdies after his loan from the Florida side expired.
Additionally, the club announced it has declined the contract options of goalkeeper Jake Leeker; defenders Rhys Williams and David Diosa; and midfielders Sebastian Velasquez and Charlie Adams. Forward Jamal Charles' loan option was not exercised as he'll return to C.D.S. Vida in Honduras. Forward Juan Ignacio Mare is out of contract with the club and has signed with Chattanooga Red Wolves of USL League One, set to debut in the 2019 season. As previously announced, Chandler Hoffman will not return to the Monarchs in 2019 after signing with USL Championship expansion side Birmingham Legion FC last July.
