
Real Monarchs SLC Cap Regular Season Saturday against Sacramento Republic FC

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (15-10-8, 53 points, 4 West) hosts Sacramento Republic FC at Zions Bank Stadium to cap its 2019 Regular Season campaign on Saturday, October 19. Kickoff from Herriman is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. MT and will be televised nationally on ESPN3.
Real Monarchs celebrate "Halloween Day" during Saturday's contest. Fans are encouraged to come to Zions Bank Stadium in their Halloween costumes and come before the game to take part in a Trunk-or-Treat event. Use promo code 'TREAT' to purchase adult tickets for just $5 and kids tickets for just a dollar. $5 tickets will also be available for fans who bring snack food or nonperishable food items to donate to the Jordan Education Foundation to help kids in need within the community. Saturday's regular-season finale will be the fourth in 12 days for Real Monarchs as it secured wins over Reno 1868 FC, Orange County SC, and Phoenix Rising FC before playing to a 2-2 draw last Wednesday with Austin Bold FC. In Wednesday's contest, FW Julian Vazquez scored his first professional goal in the 5th minute to become the 21st player to score in a Monarchs jersey, while FW Kyle Coffee tallied his second goal in as many games. Bold FC had answers to pull out the draw through goals from André Lima and Ema Twumasi to split the points at Zions Bank Stadium.
The fight for 4th in the West continues on Saturday as Real Monarchs looks to earn the right to host the Western Conference Quarterfinals. The Monarchs will now close out its regular season with the same team it opened the season with, Sacramento Republic FC. Real Monarchs visited Sacramento in early March as the two split points on a 1-1 draw. Both sides still have a lot to fight for in Saturday's a match as a win for the Monarchs secures 4th in the West, Sacramento Republic FC will be looking to escape the Play-In Round in the USL Championship Playoffs.

Heading into its final game of the regular season, Real Monarchs SLC has seen 20 unique players tally a goal in a Monarchs jersey. The attacking front is led by Honduran International FW Douglas Martinez, who has recorded 15 goals and 6 assists across 20 appearances as well as earning the club's first hat-trick in the dominant 5-0 victory over Tacoma Defiance on July 12. Meanwhile, MF Maikel Chang and Team Captain Jack Blake continues to provide a meaningful presence in the midfield providing a combined 20 goals and 6 assists as of October 12.
In front goal, USL Veteran DF Noah Powder has made himself a mainstay on the backline with 27 starts and 28 appearances so far this season. Paired with fellow defenders, Kalen Ryden, Jordan Pena, Konrad Plewa, and Erik Holt, the Monarchs backline has begun to solidify and limiting the opposing attack to help in pushing Real Monarchs to its third consecutive playoff appearance in as many years.
In goal, GK Andrew Putna leads the Monarchs with four clean sheets and 32 saves in 13 appearances for the club. U-20 USMNT star GK David Ochoa has also featured prominently for the Monarchs in goal, earning three clean sheets and 51 saves in 15 appearances. Ochoa returned to Utah after featuring in two matches of the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup where he tallied one shutout and was named to the 2019 MLS Homegrown Game roster.
